Seeking Life Impact
A trauma-informed empowerment program for racialized women survivors of trauma in MontrĂ©alâs northeast neighborhoods.
This program created a safe, culturally grounded, and compassionate space where participants could heal, reconnect, and build the confidence and skills needed to move forward. Evaluation results confirmed very high participant satisfaction and highlighted meaningful changes in emotional well-being, autonomy, social connection, and professional readiness.

Participants reported feeling calmer, less stressed, and more motivated after taking part in the workshops. The program strengthened self-esteem, emotional regulation, resilience, and the ability to express emotions in a supportive environment.

The initiative helped reduce social isolation and fostered strong peer relationships built on trust, solidarity, and mutual support. Many participants described the group as âa family,â reflecting a deep sense of belonging and community.

Workshops strengthened digital literacy, financial understanding, communication, entrepreneurship, and employability skills. Participants gained practical knowledge to better navigate technology, protect themselves online, and understand the Canadian financial system.
